Paraboot, founded in 1908 by Rémy Richard in Izeaux, Isère, began by making clogs and sturdy shoes for workers. From the start, the brand stood out by using high-quality materials to create durable footwear.

In the 1920s, Rémy Richard discovered the Goodyear welt technique during a trip to the United States and integrated it into his designs. He renamed the company "Paraboot" in reference to the Brazilian port of Para, from which the latex for the rubber soles was sourced, marking a major turning point.

Today, Paraboot is internationally renowned for its iconic models like the Michael and Chambord. Still family-owned, the company continues to uphold its artisanal craftsmanship, producing in France while blending tradition with innovation.
